When broke college roommates Jake and Mikey discover their new apartment is absurdly cheap because it is haunted by a scythe-wielding Grim Reaper, they decide to stick it out to save on rent. But this Reaper is not very good at his job - he is clumsy, socially awkward, and just wants someone to talk to after centuries of loneliness. As the unlikely trio learns to coexist, they must team up when a real threat emerges: a demon landlord who wants to evict everyone - permanently. A hilarious horror comedy that proves death is not the end, it is just the beginning of a really weird friendship.
The Grim Reaper trying to use a smartphone had me DYING. Best horror comedy since Shaun of the Dead!
Came for the scares, stayed for the feels. The friendship that develops is genuinely touching.
Not super scary but consistently funny. Perfect date night movie for October.
Whoever plays the Grim Reaper deserves an award. His comedic timing is impeccable.
If you want actual scares look elsewhere. But as a comedy it works pretty well.
Already planning to watch this every October. Its funny, spooky, and has so much heart.
The script is way smarter than it has any right to be. Lots of jokes that reward rewatching.
The demon landlord subplot is comedy gold. "Your lease is eternal" killed me.
I did not laugh once. Maybe I am just not the target audience but this felt like a kids movie.
Who knew a movie about the Grim Reaper could be so heartwarming? Loved every minute.
The idea could have been a one-note joke but they really committed to the world building.
After a stressful week this was exactly what I needed. Pure joy from start to finish.
